Mid-Year Reflection – Growing with KonMari & Mindful Peace💚

As we approach the midpoint of the year, I’ve been reflecting on my journey through the KonMari Club and my self-care experiments, and I feel grateful for how much has shifted both inside and out.

At the beginning of the year, my key intention was simple yet profound: to give my life a pause, to truly slow down and live from the heart. I wanted to feel at ease, not rushed by external expectations, and to create a lifestyle that felt authentic and joyful.

Small Steps That Made a Big Difference

Over these months, I focused on small but meaningful steps:
💚 Prioritizing my health through regular gym workouts, swimming, and staying consistent with my dietitian’s plan—gently losing 1kg each month.
💚 Going to bed earlier, getting 8 hours of restful sleep, and rising with energy.
💚 Spending quality time with my son, cherishing moments of connection.
💚 Practicing mindfulness and living joyfully within my budget.
💚 Staying connected with both online and local communities while also carving out time to simply be myself.
💚 Engaging in meaningful work—both paid and voluntary—that aligns with my values.

Unexpected Wins & Beautiful Surprises

To my surprise, these little steps created big results. I lost 6kg without feeling pressured, my relationships with family, friends, and my community deepened, and I felt a strong sense of belonging—while still honouring my individuality. Sleep has become effortless, my diet feels natural, and even my household spending has halved. Most importantly, I feel rested and at peace.

Expanding Through Mindful Peace Sydney

One of the most transformative parts of this journey has been my involvement with Mindful Peace Sydney, where I’ve embraced the Chan (Zen) way of living through practices like Dhyana Tea Ceremonies, Dhyana Organising, and our inspiring Book Club. These experiences have taught me to be fully present, to notice the quiet details of life, and to align my actions with gratitude. They complement the KonMari Method™ beautifully—helping me organise not just my physical space, but my inner world.

Growth in Mindset & Habits

Through both the KonMari Club and Mindful Peace Sydney, I’ve learned to:
💚 Be more open to possibilities, without rushing to conclusions.
💚 Trust the universe and be grateful for what each day brings.
💚 Sustain my mindfulness for longer stretches, enjoying the richness of the present moment.

This mid-year reflection reminds me that change doesn’t come from one big leap but through consistent, intentional choices. I hope my journey inspires you to create space for yourself, your dreams, and your peace.
